In 2003, Mckinzie served as a columnist for the intake magazine. Concurrently, she also perfected her photography skills. A year after, in 2004, Roth, joined Indie’s music channel, where she was responsible for presenting new single and album releases.

After that, Roth worked as a TV host which convened various weekly shows. Furthermore, Roth has also been invited to host in a radio station called, 98.7 The bull, where she hosted their morning show.

Mckinzie joined Emmis Communications as their  Midday Host in 2006. There she became an on air host for their mini-series called Discover a Day. After a year of working in the company, she resigned from the job.

She then worked as a morning show host for radion one. Along with that, she also assisted in the  Indy Live Morning Show by reporting entertainment and local news. 

Mckinzie achieved fame when she started working as a TV host for WXIN-TV. There she got an opportunity to cover events like the Red carpet and the super bowl, along with interviews with famous stars.

That year, she also started working for WISH-TV as their correspondent. There, she presented live segments regarding child and family issues.
