Chico Bean was born Anthony Jamal Bean to Afro-American parents. He was born and raised in Washington D.C., of the United States. The name of his mother is Tawanda Beans.
He and his mom had a difficult time to be where they are today because Chico’s father passed away when he was just 2 years old. According to some sources, his father was murdered in a shooting in the same way five of his other relatives were murdered.
Despite having a difficult childhood, Chico never let violence come in his way of achieving dreams. He attended a local high school and when he went on to study in the North Carolina University, his profession as a comedian excelled.

Chico Bean began his career as a comedian back in 2007 when he started performing comedy shows in clubs around North Carolina. His first step towards success began when he got an opportunity to open Chris Wiles’s show with his content. He then collaborated with fellow comedian Darren Brand and B- Daht to start a show called ‘Freestyle Funny Comedy Show’.
His popularity increased after he performed in Fresh Faces of Comedy at the Gotham Comedy Club. It was Nick Cannon who helped him get there and he further motivated Chico to audition for MTV’s Wild N’ Out. Chico’s popularity increased dramatically after joining the show. He is one of the most celebrated comedians of season 5 of the show.
